At the Hot Lips...
Morning everyone!! Well I'm not liking being a patient already..my LEG is killing me! But while I was outside yesterday in my new lounging chair that Chris got for me while I recover from this surgery that I've had...I saw some very young Hummingbirds at the hot lips. I was smart and had taken my camera with me outside so I wouldn't have to get out of my chair!! So cool I watched them for hours...these are the few good shots I got of them...After a while they started coming to check me out too...One hummer actually hovered right in front of my face so cute. I just love hummingbirds.

Water N Roses
Roses what beautiful flowers...I can never get enough of them. These shots are some taken in my garden, just after a rain fall. The water just glistens off them I couldn't resist taking some lovely shots. I would like to also mention that a rose just isn't a rose without the beautiful smell that goes with them. I know there are alot of species that don't have a smell....which is a shame really. All my scented roses planted under my living room window so that when I open the window in the summer time months the smell fills the whole house with such a lovely aroma...it's like heaven.

Lavender and the Bumble Bee ~ Found one!!
Today is about Lavender...lovely little flower. As you can see here my lavender at home is just opening and the fat little bumble bees just truly love it!! Lavender is one of our edible flowers for those of you who might not know that. You can dry it and use the flowers for tea, the essence or nectar from steeping the flowers can be used for Jellies and Jams. The usual purpose for Lavender that mostly everyone knows about is satchels for the dresser drawers to make them smell fresh!!

Bamboo the Worlds Renewable Resource!!
My post is a little unique today. I have different plants and views that symbolize nature of course...but also an image that shows renewable resources as well. For example this Bamboo is one of the World's most valuable resource right now...it grows quickly and fast. We now use Bamboo for flooring, socks, shirts, furniture....simply alot of products. Did you know that Bamboo grows underground for five years before it even breaks through the soil? That is one of the reasons why it can grow back so quickly after it's been cut down...the root systems are very established. In the next two pictures see if you can spot what the renewable resource is.

The beauty of Grass gone to seed 1 of 3
Morning everyone...today is about grass. Yep grass gone to seed. The reason for this post is simply because I went back to the Bog the other day to see what had changed since I was there last. Alot has changed it that particular environment.....The bog is almost dried up from our lack of rain here and there was Head High grass. I could hardly find the trail or keep on it very well. So I thought since the grass was at eye view I would practice my Macro shots on Black N White settings. I love the effect of the grass....but alas grass does not like me in no time I broke out in Hives!! and started to itch like crazy I had to get out ASAP before I ripped my clothing off to get at the itchy parts...Ohhhhh not good.

Symbolism of Dad....Happy Father's Day
In my third post I have chose this Lobelia flower that I took the other day as a symbol of Dad...why? Well because blue has always traditionally symbolized the male gender and two because Dad are truly beautiful when their not being so masculine. Like at times when you catch them playing with their children, when softly disciplining children, when reading a bedtime storey and my favorite when those big masculine hands try to put on a bandage on the little scrapes.
Symbolism of Dad....Watchful Eye
Symbolism of Dad....Never Easy
In my posts today my pictures that I'm picking in my mind remind me of all the Fathers out there be it Male or Female. Some families have only one parent holding the ship together so Father's day applies to everyone these days. So my first pick is: This bee struggles to get his work done to take home the chow....Never Easy some days.

Corey's Home Made Bird Feeder
In these two shots these two birds are enjoying Corey's home made bird feeder. Corey is 9 years old and we had put him into Cubs this year. The main focus for the Cubs was to build a bird feeder out of recycled products. Old scraps of wood, shoe lace, and a water bottle for the seed. He did a fantastic job and the birds love the feeder...it hangs in the tree just beside the main feeder. This on however we use Finch seed and crushed sunflower seeds all removed from the shells...they like that treat. No work just all about the eating.
Surprise!!

Hot Lips....Sage! Hummingbirds Favorite
Flowers nothing so beautiful is there?...these three flowers are just so different but stunning in their own way. The top one here is a Hummingbirds dream flower. If you ever wanted to attract hummingbirds without a feeder this is the plant for you! The blossoms are either bright red with no white or a combination like you see here. The plant fills the air with lovely aroma of Sage and a sweet smell for the hummingbirds...one of my most favorite plants in my garden besides my Prize roses....
