If you look carefully you can see in the bottom picture here that it's tongue is reaching for a taste!! Very cool shot.
Butterflies and Moths are so unique in their own ways aren't they. Moths I have found have a very powdery look to them when you take their pictures and not at time as striking as the Butterfly. But what are the differences other than size and colour? That is the hot question of the day....Other than species what are the true differences I certainly can't tell unless I take a course that tells me. They both do the same things really...they suck nectar from flowers and lay eggs. So for those of you who are smart leave me a comment and tell me what the real difference between a moth and a Butterfly are I would love to know! :)
In the top Image I was trying for a more mystical look...dreamy if you will with Macro and the sun hitting the flower from the front.Goodmorning and I'm up bright and early today....time for some flower shots again. You have to admit that Summer time is the best time for flowers, so we have got to get as many as we can before they all die off. In these four pictures I was trying to capture a certain mood by using the sun as my advantage. What I love about flowers like this one here is that the back is just as beautiful as the front and if you get the light just right you can get a very dreamy look sort of mystical. I feel that I achieved that feel in the top two pictures. Tell me what you think?

Another Friday and another Fruit!!! The Golden Kiwi...I love this fruit. I prefer the golden only because it has a taste like pineapple. It has a fresh taste....I do enjoy the green variety as well but if your not careful you get a bitter one and the green can frequently be tasteless. So the golden is the best way to go according to my tongue!! :) Also I wanted to let all of you know that there will be no postings this weekend, I will be attempting again to change the look of my blog. I'm just not happy with the layout of this Template and with the help of some great people with wonderful instructions I'm going to try again. Thank you to Frank from the Early Birder and Cinner for you wonderful help!! Maybe with three heads I can get this task done.
Interesting is my thought process today. This butterfly caught my attention the other day...just look at how bright and beautiful it is...Wow factor for sure. But as I was following it taking shots I started to notice something else. At every stop this butterfly was curling up at every leaf. An example of what I'm talking about is in the second shot in the middle here. It didn't click in until I examined the leaf. EGGS...this butterfly was busy laying eggs. It shouldn't have taken me by surprise because that is what butterflies and moths do. I just wasn't expecting to actually witness it. It was a beautiful moment not only for what I was seeing but what I have never ever noticed before. Taking pictures of Nature has basically given me new eye sight....the ability to stop and actually see what is going on around me. It is sad that it has taken me 39 years to finally see.....and it excites me that there is so much more to see in our Natural world if I just take the time to STOP and SEE.... Wow factor for sure.
During one of my weeks at home recovering there was about 3 days that we had rain on and off. On the last day of rain my husband took me out with my camera, even though I couldn't walk much, he took me to my favorite place Cattle Point where he knew I would find wonderful things to take pictures of. He knows I love capturing nature just after a rain fall, everything looks so fresh and clean and the water droplets adds that whole different dynamic into the pictures. At least that is what I think and feel...you might not like your flowers looking wet and soggy but I do!! LOL
Ok so my first day back to work was not fun. My desk was a nightmare!! things where not organized and my leg was not happy sitting for great lengths of time! I did prop it up on a stool but that really didn't help much. By the end of the day I was limping quite badly. But because I have no sick time left ....I must push on..sigh the life of a martyr!! LOL But on with the wonderful turtles here. Did you know that the African Tortoise is one of the third larges turtles in the world!! They are so beautiful I just love turtles. To be able to carry their homes on their backs would be interesting indeed....but their soft solitary nature just captivates me.
Well l'm off to work today after being home for two weeks recovering from Surgery. Boy does the time fly by or what? But I have a very lovely story to tell about my adventures capturing these shots. On Saturday some of you already know that I had gone out with my youngest Corey and that we had a fabulous day. What you didn't know was this story...the story of a young boy laughing hoping his mom would fall into the pond as she scaled rocks, balancing on the balls of her feet and favoring her bad let to get these shots. I told him to stop wishing for my fall and he should support me ....ahhhhh but the laughter continued. It was a cute scene, I guess you had to be there to enjoy the whole special moment of it. A memory that Corey will always have. He told Kenton all about it when he got home on Sunday and of course Kenton started to laugh too!
Morning everyone!! Ahhhhh Victoria reached a lovely 27 yesterday..nice. My son and I went out and had a fabulous day together. My oldest Kenton had gone to Salt's Spring Island for a soccer sleep over camp, so Corey and I had some quality time together it was great. Here are some of my fabulous shots of some summer flowers that I took in my favorite spot!! The UVIC Gardens...I just love that place so much to see and it changes everyday.
Well what can you say about these fantastic little bugs!!. Alot I can tell you, they are a garden's dream bug. The little helper of aphid control the power house! I love these bugs when I see them in my garden I smile with glee. I ran across this little wee on down by the ocean if you can believe that. The winds were incredibly strong but this wee one just got to work looking for sucking parasites. My images because of the wind aren't as crisp as I would like them to be. But these are my first shots of these great little bugs! I have my pom poms waving in the wind as I cheer LOL
Ahhhhh...summer time nothing more wonderful that this season!! This morning I had a lovely bowl of Raspberries with milk and some crunchy nuts on top. Yummmy :) Well I have to tell all of you a story about what happened to me yesterday. As I become more familiar with the Internet and enjoy viewing other blogs....I have come to admire different Templates that people have for their blog backgrounds to display their pictures and topic. So I thought I would love to change my blog look...simply because when I set up my blog I just worked with the Templates that Blogger provides which really isn't much of a selection. So I found the perfect template down loaded to a zip folder and tried to implement the change in my blog. WELLLL I LOST EVERYTHING!! and I don't know how I had done that....I started to cry and it took my four hours to find all my stuff. By the way Blogger has a very useless help section....only providing solutions to very basic needs. I had to search other resources to figure out what I had done wrong. I have never read so much computer stuff before in my life. So basically I'm totally afraid to implement a change on my blog now after what I went through yesterday. Thankfully I found all my stuff again....Oh and I usually don't say foul words out loud but yesterday was special!!!
