Long Johns!!!!
Well as usual it was snowing today! Thankfully my wonderful loving husband went and bought me some long johns so I can stay outside a wee bit longer than before. Alas I wish I had something that protected my face a little more, it sure starts to hurt after awhile. Anyway today my feeders were really really busy, so much so there was no room at times for the new comers. So they had to sit and wait, like the first little one you see here at the top. I feel so sorry for them, I don't know how they do it.....keeping themselves warm enough to survive in these extreme environments. I wish I could put long johns on them I bet they would really love it! Can you image little birds flying around with long johns on??? Hahahahah it would be a sight to see wouldn't it.

Albino House Finch
Albino's beautiful but a mystery. I was out on mother's day when I heard some house finches in one of the trees just off the trail I was walking on. When I spotted the Albino Finch...at first I thought my eyes were deceiving me but after taking some pictures it became instantly clear at what it was. Genetics interesting subject really all it takes is one code to change in the DNA molecule and change occurs whether positive or negative. More leaning into the negative if you really research the statistics of it all. Genetics was one of my favorite subject and to this day still captures my mind to the endless possibilities that can happen in the DNA molecule. The Albino is one of them.

Checking things out!!
This sweet juvenile Male House finch was taking the opportunity to check out my yard plants very thoroughly it was just too cute. There were a few times where I thought I would have to rescue him from the plants!! He continually got himself into interesting situations. I laughed a few times watching him. In the end if you can believe this he came right up to me...flew right into the lattice and jumped onto my table where I was sitting and basically said hello :) I didn't dare move to take the shot....didn't want to scare him. He now comes all the time when I'm out in the yard too cute. One day he will have his nice bright red head, chest and back.Tuesday, May 12, 2009
Male House Finch
I caught this lovely male house finch at my feeder the otherday....It's the first decent picture I've gotten of him. Everytime I tried to get his picture he would fly away. Finally after some time over a week he accepted the fact that I come outside and will now stay at the feeder while I'm out...but not for anyone else.
