Lavender and the Bumble Bee ~ Found one!!

Today is about Lavender...lovely little flower. As you can see here my lavender at home is just opening and the fat little bumble bees just truly love it!! Lavender is one of our edible flowers for those of you who might not know that. You can dry it and use the flowers for tea, the essence or nectar from steeping the flowers can be used for Jellies and Jams. The usual purpose for Lavender that mostly everyone knows about is satchels for the dresser drawers to make them smell fresh!!

  2. Your lavender is more advanced than mine. I think it will be a week or so before the buds open here. They are great for attracting bees and butterflies.

  3. very beautiful shot as always :-)

I wouldn't have recognised this flower as lavender as it looks a little different to what I'm growing here.
We also don't have bumble bees.

thanks for all that you share here.

Ribbon thank you and I'm surprised that you don't have bumble bees. Aren't there wild bees in Austrailia?
