Yes I was afraid to breath!! He didn't even know I was there...I wish I had gotten the whole body in. They are very very large birds...but he was keeping well hidden.
That's a great shot, Crista! You talk about being jealous of our birds down here in Ohio, but I'm jealous that you got so close to that Pileated. I hear them often, but so rarely get a good look at them. Nice job.
