Day 8 ~ A Lazy Day

Well today was a lazy day for me...I slept in and had coffee brought to me in bed...Ahhhh the life. Then slowly we took our time and got ready for the day and headed out. The Children went to the pool and Chris and I went for a leisurely walk where we explored yet another trail. We walked through the Whistler Nature Reserve...but all the views have long over grown so we didn't see much. Although we still enjoyed our slow and leisurely walk. On the walk we saw clumps of bear hair caught on shrubs and tree trunks...very cool. I'm still hopeful to see my first bear. I would like to say that Whistler is very very expensive.....I won't be going out on a Canoe after all. To go out for 1hr paddle it's over $60 dollars, to head onto the Gondola to reach the Glacier caps of the mountains well we can't afford that either. Over $150.00 for the family to get up there not including the extra costs when you reach the top to hike the trails with a guide. There isn't any family friendly things here to do that doesn't cost you an arm and a leg....disappointing really...but we are making the most of it. I have posted today some of the wild flowers and water falls that I have come across on my walks.

  2. Goodness me - it really is expensive for some activities there. A lazy day is more my idea of enjoying life :) You are finding some lovely views anyway and the flowers are beautiful.

  3. Coffee in bed... now that sounds lovely! Yes, it is unfortunate that activities can be so expensive... I think that's partially why Dave and I didn't really venture out and do much when we went up to Michigan this year.

  4. I'm sure you must be disappointed not to be able to do certain activities due to the high costs but I'm sure you will continue to find many beautiful things to see & photograph.
Take care & have fun. FAB

  5. I had to leave this post for you to thank you for all of your kind words when commenting on my blog A Photographic Journey. I appreciate it so much. You have some absolutely gorgeous photos and should be so very proud. I wished I were in Whistler we could take a hike or two. Not sure I'll ever get there though I'm hoping someday to get to Vancouver Island. Much Luck!
