Interesting is my thought process today. This butterfly caught my attention the other day...just look at how bright and beautiful it is...Wow factor for sure. But as I was following it taking shots I started to notice something else. At every stop this butterfly was curling up at every leaf. An example of what I'm talking about is in the second shot in the middle here. It didn't click in until I examined the leaf. EGGS...this butterfly was busy laying eggs. It shouldn't have taken me by surprise because that is what butterflies and moths do. I just wasn't expecting to actually witness it. It was a beautiful moment not only for what I was seeing but what I have never ever noticed before. Taking pictures of Nature has basically given me new eye sight....the ability to stop and actually see what is going on around me. It is sad that it has taken me 39 years to finally see.....and it excites me that there is so much more to see in our Natural world if I just take the time to STOP and SEE.... Wow factor for sure.
You are right, Crista. I have noticed much more detail since I started taking photographs. The the more detail I notice - the more photos I take. Even when I don't have the camera with me I still look much more closely at things than I used to.
ReplyDeleteLovely close photos. Looks like the sunlight is shining through the wings.
Wow, how cool was that. And yes sometimes its right before us! Take care,
ReplyDeleteI would have been completely surprised as well. I've never seen a butterfly (or moth) lay eggs! Great observations!! ...and a beautiful butterfly
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful thing to witness Crista! If we just open our eyes there's so much to see...
